What are Rei-Shi Mushrooms ?

NOW's blend of  Rei-Shi Mushrooms contains Reishi (also known as Ling Zhi) and Shiitake Mushrooms. Reishi and Shitake are both well known in Oriental herbalism and have been used to promote health and wellness for centuries. In more recent years, researchers have identified key bioactive polysaccharides that may contribute to the health-supporting properties of these two super mushrooms.
Shitake provides a good source of amino acids, minerals and vitamins. Its supports circulatory system, immune system and has anti-microbial properties.  It contains compounds that protect DNA from damage, including a nutrient called Lentinan, a compound with possible potential as having anti-cancer effects. Shitake contains optimum levels of selenium and zinc helping to support skin health.
